Trikatu means "the three hot spices" and is composed of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper (pippali). Trikatu is a traditional, hot spice blend. According to Ayurvedic understanding, trikatu stimulates catabolism and thus reduces deposits and mucus. It can also be used very effectively as an additive to oils in cases of Pitta deficiency and accumulated Kapha in the skin or tissue (fatty tissue) (i.e., for insensitive, oily, or cold skin).
Ingredients:
Ginger, black pepper, long pepper (pippali)
Information about Ayurvedic powders (Churnam):
In Ayurveda, various powder preparations play an important role.
Some, for example, consist of only a single root which has been cleaned, ground and dried, and other churnam consist of a combination of different plants up to the most complicated recipes.
