The organic extra virgin olive oil from Ölwerk is a special Agouro olive oil from Greece. "Agouro" refers to an olive oil produced from olives harvested early – before the fruit has reached full ripeness.
The olives come from the Methoni region in Messinia (Peloponnese, near Kalamata) . Each tree is individually harvested by hand using special rakes, and the fruit is processed at the olive mill on the same day. This elaborate process preserves the olives' full freshness and guarantees a high-quality, extra virgin olive oil with a unique character.
The oil impresses with a mild to spicy taste and a slightly scratchy finish , which is typical for first-class, early harvested olive oils.
