He is best known for his work on marital stability and relationship analysis through direct observation. Julie Schwartz Gottman, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and the co-founder and director of the Gottman Institute. She is co-initiator of the extremely popular weekend workshops for couples "The Art and Science of Love" and helped develop the national clinical training program for Gottman couples therapy in the USA. She is an author and co-author and lives with her husband in Seattle.
